Adam Hideg received numerous offers from different teams after his performance in the Formula 4 Winter Series. Eventually, the karting world championship silver medalist, along with his management, deemed the future vision offered by Cram Motorsport to be the best for his career. He will be competing in the Spanish Formula 4 championship with the Italian team this season.
The 16-year-old driver from the Hungarian Motorsport Academy showcased a strong performance both within his previous team and overall during the Winter Series held on Spanish circuits. His development was steady, and he gained a wealth of experience. Adam Hideg secured two podium finishes and one pole position over the four race weekends.
"There were signs that Adam would receive multiple offers because several team leaders or owners were watching the race weekends. We anticipated there would be inquiries after the Winter Series, and we are pleased to have reached an agreement with Cram Motorsport because during the discussions with the team leaders, it seemed to us that this was the most appropriate step for Adam's career at this stage," - stated Krisztián Ferencz, the driver's manager. Adam Hideg has already tested with his new team twice. Cram Motorsport, founded in 1994, has seen several drivers pass through its ranks and reaching Formula 1. Among them, the most prominent name is Brazilian Felipe Massa. Hungarian racing fans might also recognize Baumgartner Zsolt, Hungary's only Formula 1 racer to date, who finished third in the Formula Renault Eurocup in 1999 with Cram.
"The entire team is helpful, open, and cooperative, and besides being interested in the driver's opinion, they almost always accept it, whether it's about car settings or tire pressure. My first experiences are very positive, and I look forward to starting the Spanish F4 championship," - said Adam Hideg. Several tracks on the racing calendar will be familiar to him since races were held in Barcelona, Valencia, Jerez, and Aragón during the Winter Series.
As part of the Hungarian Motorsport Academy operated by the Hungarian Mobility Development Agency Ltd. (HUMDA), the feeder system for young talents, Adam Hideg will kick off his season during the first round of the Spanish championship in Jarama on May 10-12.
Following that, Portimao and Circuit Paul Ricard in France will be next, followed by Aragón, Valencia, and Jerez before the series concludes in Barcelona.
