Hungarian Motorsport Academy's driver, Ádám Hideg, continues in Formula-4

Budapest, January 31, 2024 – Ádám Hideg, a karting driver from the talent development system of the Hungarian Motorsport Academy, created and operated by the HUMDA Hungarian Mobility Development Agency belonging to the Széchenyi University Group, will continue his career this year in the Spanish Formula Winter Series and the Italian Formula-4 Championship. Ádám Hideg will drive at Jenzer Motorsport, aiming to compete in Formula-1 in the long run.

The barely 16-year-old talent from Kaposvár achieved silver in 2022 at the FIA Karting World Championship in the OKJ (Original Kart Junior) category for 12-14 year-olds, considered the most prestigious karting series. No Hungarian driver has previously achieved such outstanding results.

Ádám Hideg's career is now guided by Hungarian professionals from this year onwards, based on a systematically developed long-term development plan. They are hopeful that the driver may compete in Formula-1 as soon as 2029. Supported by the Hungarian Motorsport Academy (HMA), Ádám Hideg prepared for Formula-4 racing last year, testing with several teams and securing an agreement with Swiss Jenzer Motorsport for this season.

In the coming years, the dream could become a reality, and Hungary could have a representative in Formula-1 again.

We pay special attention to the build up of Ádám's career, which is nowadays essential for a talented racer to reach the elite category of motorsport. Of course, significant financial support is also needed, but we believe that Ádám's past achievements, perseverance, attitude, and talent provide an opportunity to keep the otherwise very high costs under control each year

– said Krisztián Ferencz, Ádám Hideg's manager. Zsolt Baumgartner raced in Formula-1 in 2003 and 2004.

The driver stated:

I look forward to this season with great expectations, and I am aware that reaching Formula-1 requires successfully completing every step. I'm very excited to be racing in Formula-4 this year, especially in two series. My big dream is to reach F1 and represent Hungary there, but for now, I'm focusing on the task at hand and aiming to achieve the best results this year with Jenzer Motorsport

– said Ádám Hideg.

We are progressing systematically, step by step, in the HMA talent development system. In 2021, we launched the program to seek out, assess, and support the most talented Hungarian car and motorcycle racers. The young talents are achieving increasingly better results, which means we are on the right path, and it was worth creating the 'Hungarian car-motor racing national team.' Ádám Hideg is one of the best examples that with consistent work, significant results can be achieved. In addition to the racer's appropriate attitude, the unconditional support of the family and the long-term commitment and perseverance of individual sponsors are essential prerequisites. The HMA contributes to the drivers' career building by providing professional support, enabling them to step up one level faster with us

emphasized Balázs Weingartner, chairman of the HUMDA board.

The academy is outstanding globally as well, as few countries provide such high-level support to young drivers. Fortunately, they make good use of the opportunity, which is evident in Ádám Hideg's progress. It is our unspoken goal to have a Hungarian Formula 1 driver within ten years. I hope that Ádám can realize his dream of joining the field of the circus by 2029. It is already a great success that he can continue his career at the legendary Jenzer Motorsport

highlighted Zoltán Szujó, president of the Hungarian National Motorsport Federation (MNASZ).
