The Formula-4 Winter Series, the first round of this year's F4 winter racing series, will take place this weekend at the Jerez circuit, where Ádám Hideg will be among the competitors representing Jenzer Motorsport.
The 16-year-old Hungarian driver, a silver medalist in karting at the world championships, announced his category switch and progression last week at a press conference in Budapest.
As a member of the talent development system of the Hungarian Motorsport Academy, created and operated by the HUMDA Hungarian Mobility Development Agency belonging to the Széchenyi University Group, Hideg Ádám spent all of last year preparing for his Formula-4 debut. Now, the time has come for him to debut in the field with a large contingent of 41 drivers and race cars.
In the later stages of the season, Ádám Hideg will also compete in the Italian F4 Championship. The four-weekend Winter Series serves as preparation for this and as an opportunity for him to get accustomed to racing with Jenzer's blue-colored race car.
Ádám Hideg showcased promising and convincing performance during the January tests. However, he emphasized that the Winter Series is primarily about learning and gaining experience.
I believe that in the coming weeks, the most important task will be to get to know the car and the team even better, as we prepare for the Italian championship. At the same time, of course, I aim to achieve good results on the Spanish tracks. For now, the most important thing is that everything runs smoothly, and I can gather as much experience as possible in the upcoming weekends
– stated Ádám Hideg.
After the opening weekend in Jerez, the F4 Winter Series continues a week later in Valencia, followed by the third round in Alcañiz, on the Aragon circuit, in the first weekend of March. The winter preparation series concludes on March 8-9-10 at the Circuit de Catalunya, located near Barcelona, which hosts the Spanish Grand Prix in Formula 1.
Each weekend of the racing series includes a test day, followed by two 20-minute qualifying sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as three sprint races (30 minutes + 1 lap) for the drivers.
Jenzer Motorsport will field four cars, with Ádám Hideg having Swiss and French teammates. The events of the race weekends will be available for live streaming on the official YouTube channel of the F4 Winter Series.
