Ádám Hideg has arrived into the top ranks of the Formula 4 winter series

Ádám Hideg has arrived into the top ranks of the Formula 4 Winter Series following the last weekend's round in Barcelona, where adverse weather conditions prevented him from converting his pole position into a race victory on Saturday, and a technical issue forced him to retire from the third race of the weekend on Sunday, despite starting from seventh place.

The 16-year-old driver from the Hungarian Motorsport Academy secured his first pole position for Saturday's opening race. However, heavy rainfall led to excessive standing water on the track, prompting race officials to red-flag the race after just two laps behind the safety car. Despite initial attempts to resume the race, the race stewards ultimately decided against it, denying Hideg Ádám the opportunity to leverage his pole position and vie for victory.

On Sunday, under sunny skies and favorable conditions, emerging talents were able to showcase their skills once again. In the second race of the day, the weekend's finale, Hideg found himself battling at the front of the pack. Despite a technical issue that forced him to retire from the race while running in the top positions, his pace suggested he could have finished within the top five, with a podium finish not out of the question.

Hideg's participation in the Winter Series aimed to accumulate valuable experience and further refine his collaboration with Jenzer Motorsport. His continuous improvement was acknowledged by the team, as he emerged as the most successful among the Swiss team's four drivers on most weekends.

In the previous round in Aragon, Hideg achieved his personal best result. He finished seventh in the first race on Sunday, later revised to sixth due to a post-race penalty, securing a podium finish among the rookies. In the final race, he finished ninth, earning him another podium position among the rookies. Overall, the Hungarian driver collected 12 points over the four rounds, finishing 20th in the series standings, which featured 48 drivers.

Following the conclusion of the four-round F4 Winter Series, Hideg faces nearly a two-month preparation period before the first weekend of the Italian F4 Championship, scheduled between May 3rd and 5th in Misano.
